5th Plenary Assembly, Malta, 2001

The 5th Plenary Assembly of the Network was hold in Malta in 2001 on the invitation of the Broadcasting Authority of Malta (BAM). The National Council for Radio and Television of Albania (NCRT), the Telecommunication Market Commission of Spain (CMT), as well as representatives of the European Platform of Regulatory Authorities (EPRA) participated as observers in the exchanges.

The membership of a ninth member was formalized on this occasion: the Council for Cable TV and Satellite Broadcasting (CCTSB) of Israel. The participants discussed the role of the regulator in the era of convergence. The question of the convergence of regulatory authorities, with Italy as an example, has also been examined.

The other topics brought forward concerned the protection of minors, and the developing of Real TV.
